Monica's opened originally in Deep Ellum in 1992. For 20 years Monica's brought a unique menu that was focused on fresh-innovated Mexican and Tex-Mex food. Locally and nationally recognized by many publications as one of Dallas favorite spots for great food and service at a reasonable price.
Monica Greene, is back to create a one of a kind destination in the Lamar Street Entertainment District .
Two blocks south of the Convention Center.
Our patios offer a great view of Downtown Dallas.
The "old" Cedars Socíal name is now finally gone and the location has been revamped and finally offers not only the flavors of Modern Mexican cuisine but the traditional flavors of Tex-Mex in a mid-century modern decor. Urban and eclectic Monica's is for all Mex and Tex food lovers.
Tequila's, mezcals together with prohibition era drinks that fans of the southside spot have come to love are offered by more than capable mixologists.
"The food is inspired by the culinary traditions I grew up with in Mexico City, and by experiencing for the past 40 years the incredible rewarding flavors of Tex-Mex here in Dallas."
We invite you to visit us at Monica's Mex-Tex Cantina to experience the rich flavors and textures of true Mexican cuisine as only Monica Greene can bring you.
Along with business partner, Frankie Jimenez, the team is excited to be a part of The Cedars neighborhood —a vibrant and growing community on Dallas’ southside.
We want to grow with this community,
I want to be here for a long, long time, especially when we grow roots in here. - Monica Greene
Experienced and long time Bar Expert Jason is what you expect of a Bar Guru. He can recommend some of his inspired drink recipes, including some made with exotic mescals and tequilas, and inventive gin and bourbon concoctions.
While regulars should expect some new flavors at the bar, they shouldn’t worry about losing their old favorites. Jason is keeping the extremely popular Cedars Old Fashioned on the menu as an ode to the history of the bar and the neighborhood.
